I'll be in Santo Domingo from Sept/2-Sept/7 What is the weather like during that time of the year? Hurricanes? Rain? (I Hope not :disappoin)

People keep telling me to only drink bottled water and to not get ice cubes on my drinks..I'll be going to Santo Domingo for couple days next month..but how can I enjoy Rum-N-Coke with no ice cubes? do all bars, clubs and hotels use filtered water on ice cubes?

wich is better when it comes to nightlife? from your experience who has been to both. hip-hop, reggaeton, young girls (18-25)..best night for drunken nights? (lounges, nightclubs, bars) Santo Domingo Zona Colonial or Boca Chica?
