Good prices from Portland, Maine (PWM)

Hola: FYI for those living in northern New England. Both Delta and Continental currently have good prices from Portland, Maine to Santo Domingo: $445. all taxes. This is much lowere than it usually is and is competitive with Boston prices. Thought some of you may want to know. We booked for Nov. 3 to Nov. 13. Staying at Dreams La Romana.

Continental has only one flight a day from Newark to Santo Domingo. It leaves early in the morning. There are no morning flights from anywhere in the northeast that get to Newark in time to connect to the D.R. flight. You have to fly in to Newark the night before and figure out how you are going to kill up to 14 hours before your flight to paradise.

To update my previous message, that is Continentals current schedule. They make frequent changes and in Nov. their morning flight leaves at 9AM and there are some periods where they have two flights a day. Right now Continental is convenient only for people who live close to Newark and can get to the airport by 6AM.
