carnaval santo domingo 2010. my video

This video has been taken by a digital camera on the lowest resolution to be able to up load it to youtube. Even with the worst setting for video recording, I ended up having a 209 mb file. It took 5 hours to upload to youtube and then youtube compressed it even more.
So remember, its taken with a digital still photo camera Panasonic ls3.

It was the best carnival I have ever seen in DR. Extremely well organized and intelligently formatted. The weather sure helped.
Seems like there is a growing number of gays participating in the event. I didn't record many of them just for the fear of misrepresenting the theme of carnival to the rest of the world. One thing I must say is the gays (transvestites) sure exhibit their energetic dance with passion. I bet they prepare way ahead of the event. many come just to show off and they have their people in abundance to cheer them.
This event blows away la vega. We were fortunate enough to have press passes, so we had access to anywhere, meaning: best spots to shoot pictures, videos, all free booze and free food, including bon ice cream. The general public was limited to outside of the fences on either side and no one was allowed to penetrate inside the parade area.
I can't wait for the next year.
I will put together a nicer video with more clips in the end. My SD camera chip had failed but don roberto from dr1 was able to retrieve my contents. Thanks to mac, pc was helpless in this case.
