Hi everyone,

I've been to the DR many times and traveled all over, but I mostly stayed in Moca or Santiago and just went to the other areas for a few days. I have to do some fieldwork in Barahona or San Pedro, but I saw the press release about this hurricane season being predicted to be very active. I've been to both places, but never spent more than a day in either. I just remember Barahona being very beautiful. Anyhow, my question is, how rough are hurricanes in these areas and does one place tend to be worse than the others? The last time I was there during a hurricane was in Santiago, so totally different ball game there.

Also, if you had to live a month in either of these places, which would you pick and why. What are the pros and cons of each...besides the extreme heat compared to El Cibao, lol.

Thanks!
