back in the day almost everyone in El Cibao was light skinned but now the only places that keep the original demographics are the campos. Look at what alot of our urban areas look like now (especialy san francisco, la vega city and bonao):
our cities have gotten significantly dark and less and less people speak with the cibaeno accent and i'm really afraid that the people of the coasts (who are usually mixed with cocolo and haitian) will slowly 'assimilate' ei cibao racially and culturally to the point that it's indistinguishable from the rest of the country. the dr won't look like a mixed-race country anymore, it'll look like jamaica. i have no problem with black people i just want the mixed-race identity of the dr to be preserved because it important part of dominican and cibaeno culture.
