I can just see the phone call now:

What? You need to stay on the beach in the DR for three more days? Why? A volcano? There's no volcanos in the DR. Iceland? Look, what kind of sucker do you think I am? Here's an idea. Give Bjork a call and see if see needs a new assistant. You're fired, jackass.

It's a serious problem for the whole world as flying is so 'normal' now. Tourists have obviously been affected but also businesses around the whole globe have suffered too...

Watching Sky News at the moment 3pm UAE (7am EST), as you say most of the air traffic suspended until 01.00 hrs Sat, Ireland has now lifted restrictions in their controlled air space and flights are operating in Glasgow and the Western Islands untill 7 pm tonight, Mayb more to come as the volcanoe is still spouting clouds of ash. As long as it clears for next month :cheeky:

Manchester accepting 3 long haul flights the origin of which was not advised. Heading for some cow foot soup (pata de vaca) cooked filipino style but exact same as DR so no worries this hour !

Still problems with flights - two windows so far where planes have been able to land - but they say the problem is getting worse.
