Finally some people made a film about the Mirabal sisters that was made and acted by Dominicans. I am hoping for this to be more historically accurate than the movie based on the nonfiction novel by Alvarez. I can't post attachments for some reason so I am just leaving the youtube link here.

Was there really instances of street fighting and car bombs in downtown SD during the year leading up to their deaths?

I've watched 'in the time of the butterflies' wich I enjoyed so I'm looking forward to watching this one.

Looks much better than the Selma Hyak made-for-TV version on many different levels. Having Dominican actors is a good start...

has anyone watched the dubbed english version and what did we think ? would it have been better with just subtitles I wonder ?

There's no sub-titled version? I'm hoping it will have the option for CC in english when it comes out on DVD.
