Hey everyone I will be in Santo Domingo for a couple of weeks in July. Is it recommended that I bring a light rain jacket or windbreaker or is that a waste of space in my bag? Also I will be going to the north coast as well. Thanks again guys!

The weather forecast is for an active Atlantic Basin Hurricane Season. This means it is a good idea to bring a light rain jacket -- short one. We can expect more than the usual days of rain. This is a big island. For instance, this morning there were torrential rains in Santo Domingo, and got a report from Jarabacoa, in the middle of the country, that the sun was shining there. Also note that rain in the Caribbean is not cold, so you can enjoy walking in the rain!
