So, it has been along time since I last needed to get official copies of my marriage certificate and birth certificates. I last went way out in el Campo to a small town, to the Oficialia, where a verrrrry old little man laboriously typed out 3 copies of our marriage certificate In Extensa on a manual typewriter, copying them from the big bound book that we originally signed at our wedding. I hung out at a colmado for a few hours until he finished them.
For copies of my daughter's birth certificate, I last went to the Oficialia just around the corner from the hospital in Santo Domingo where she was born.
Has this system changed now? Have they ever gotten it in electronic form, and where do I go to get new copies - same place, except with 4 jovenes and computers? Or can I now get this in Santo Domingo instead of trooping back out to el Campo?
