How is this area in Cabarete?

Coming to Cabarete for a couple of weeks late September. We're looking at a couple of areas in and around Cabarete. This is the one area that seems to fit well for us.. Click here for google maps link to the area. We're new to DR and wanted to know if this area is safe to move around and/or nice. Any suggestions?

Mrdr, on that map from ocean dream on the left to velero on the right you should be fine to walk to town day or night on the beach or road. Beyond those limits I'd recommend a taxi or moto at night. Center of town with most bars and restaurants is between those two extremes.

If you have some specific hotels or condos in mind,or price range... You'll get better feedback.

I was there a month ago and its nice. Easy walk along the beach to downtown and the restaurants on the beach. Water is nice...palm trees, lots to do on excursions and even try a Kitesurfing class. I had a wonderful time. I'm going back on August 7th for a week. When I was there I did not feel unsafe.
