Shame you are not nearer the North as we are going to a Hawaiian Pig Roast tomorrow in the village of Los Brazos..... should be a real family occasion with river and food and friendly people and plenty of sunshine hopefully!
The Big Kahuna always requests Poi, two scoops of rice and macaroni salad at every Hawaiin Lua however in the tradition let's convert to local DR standards and ad beans.

Luau or laulau.....TRADITIONALHawaiian Laulau traditionally is pork or fish wrappedfirst with taro leaf, then with ti leafs and cooked. The taro leaf is also called luau from which the traditional Hawaiian festival gets it's name.Cooking of the Laulau is usually done in aunderground oven. The tradition underground ovenis called a imu. Hot rocks are placed on the Laulauand then covered with banana leafs, and then moreearth. It just takes 2-3 hours for the food to be ready.
