Judge frees woman who cut husband
The judge of Instruction of the Court of the First Instance in Hato Mayor has released a woman accused of cutting off her husband's "manhood", when he tried to force her to have oral sex. According to El Nuevo Diario and other newspapers, investigative judge Rosemary Pena Rosario released Sonia Martinez Romero yesterday afternoon, because she considered the case to be one of domestic violence that obliged the woman to defend herself. While free on her own recognizance, she must report to the court every two weeks. In the meantime, she is taking care of her husband in the local hospital. They have three children, and the husband did not press charges.
