I thought July-August was considered High season (at least, it was in LT, especially August)

About Dec15th to the week following Easter HIGH Season

Week after Easter to about June 15th Shoulder /LowSeason

June15th to about Sept 15th - summer High season (Europeans and Brits)

Sept 15th to about Dec 15th Shoulder / LOW season

Christmas / New Years and Easter Week are considered the Super High- meaning really high prices.

Like I said, summer 2nd high season is predominantly Europeans and Brits. You are right it is a lot of French but also other European countries that shut down for a month at a time for summer holidays.

Yes there are also a lot of Dominicans who return here for summer holidays as well as locals from say Santo Domingo who travel to beach resorts.

Yes, I found that air fares were surprisingly high during the July/August and was told that it's because a lot of Europeans go during that time when the kids are out of school and Dominicans living abroad travel home during that time.... the prices dropped considerably in September / Oct/ Nov
