Hello all,

I have read and seen folsk speakign about buying fish and seafood directly from local fisherman on playa Las Ballenas. I guess my question would be "Where exactly" on Las Ballenas are these fishermen and roughly what time of the day must we be there to be able to take advantage of this seafood purchase? This sounds very amazing and tasty!!!

Cheers!

I remember seeing them across from that newish restaurant "Thalassa".
I am not 100 % sure, but I believe they were there on week ends (Saturday & Sunday).

A LT resident could confirm.

Right, a lot of fishermen arrive in front of the Thalassa between 11.30 and 12.30. They'll offer tuna, dorado and/or karite, and sometimes marlin. Be sure you buy one coming from the day and ask the man to prepare it in "filet" for you, and keep the bones to prepare a soup, you'll love it.
You can also buy lobsters and shrimps there.
Another guy has his boat in front of the hotel Playacolibri and brings fresh chillos
and living lobsters around 10.am depending on the days. You might as well see him coming back with a big shark, version "the old man and the sea"...
Have fun
