Did the shopping in Jumbo on luperon last night, they had what looked like a nice package deal on PCs at the front entrance. Didn't have a pen or the techy knowledge to naturally remember that stuff but looked goog. If anyone passes Jumbo on luperon this week maybe you could check these out for me, tell me if you think it is a good deal, I need heavy Internet, voip use. Needs to bd very reliable.
Anyone seen any other deals around town, My Acer seems to be dying slowly so need a new set very soon.

My Acer wants to be semi retired. My lass keeps loading it with virus so I give up, I'm going buy myself one, put it in the office and lock the door. I thought the deals at jumbo looked ok for 15000, it's been a while since I've bought a PC and so not sure what you get for your money these days. Need windows, to beable to use a voip with it all day, as well as the usual packages. Do pcs still come S standard with these stage 1 packages?

'Stacio, You also need to take into consideration that most models you can buy here, particularly outside of specialist outlets like Omegatech and Cecomsa etc., will come with the operating system (at least), in Spanish which may (or may not) be a problem for you.

I saw a couple of mini laptops in Plaza Lama today (Charles & Mella). A Compaq and an Acer. They were both selling for about 10kRD.

If you're mainly concerned about Voip and not so much about processing power, these mini laptops may be perfect for you. Plus the price seems reasonable, as I chacked the web and the same Compaq mini laptop I saw in Plaza Lama is 270 US$ in the States.
