This is a cut and paste quoting PICHARDO from another thread here on DR1:

"Just keep tabs on the news and see how guns will be handled in the DR... Told you so a long while ago here... We "stupid" Dominicans realize that for there to be safe guns, the gun must be the smartest part of the combination. All known guns today in the DR will be banned 100% and only smart guns in the hands of a selected few allowed.
Criminals will think hard about using a gun in their crimes, with the new sentencing guidelines that will be imposed for crimes committed using guns..."

Please tell us more. Will all normal guns currently in the DR be "recalled" and removed from the hands of current owners including pistols and shotguns?

How does one qualify to be part of the select few that can own a smart gun and at what price?

What sentence will stop criminals from using guns? Will they finally introduce a death penalty or mandatory life sentences for a first offense? That would stop repeat crimes by that individual, but do little to stop other gun crimes. When guns are illegal, only people using them illegally will have them.

Please tell us more if you can.

Unless the gubmint buys guns back at market prices, it's a pipe dream to think Dominicans will voluntarily give up their guns.

And who would get the "new" guns? Why members of the PLD, of course.:cheeky:

As the old saying goes

If you outlaw guns.......only the outlaws will have guns.
Typical of a police state, goes hand in hand with the rest of the bull****

BBCCaribbean.com | Jamaica battling guns for drugs trade

Seems the problem is not just related to PR but also JA. Wonder where Haiti is getting all the guns from???? hummmmmm
A country with NO tourism to speak of and NO exports to speak of........obviously needs the drug corruption to stay alive. No brainer.
Haiti will never change, only worsen, and the DR has no place to run to. It will in time reflect tremendously....not in a good way.
