I think this is the best suited forum to present this. Look at this video in the DR/Haiti context of how language is the fundamental basis that creates not just different identities, but also perspectives on many things.

You should set aside quite some time, since the presentation is 1 hour 41 minutes and 10 seconds long. But, it's VERY interesting.

The chapters I found most interesting were

Chapter 4: FORA.tv - Lera Boroditsky: How Language Shapes Thought

Chapter 8: FORA.tv - Lera Boroditsky: How Language Shapes Thought

Chatper 9: FORA.tv - Lera Boroditsky: How Language Shapes Thought

Chapter11: FORA.tv - Lera Boroditsky: How Language Shapes Thought

Full Program: FORA.tv - Lera Boroditsky: How Language Shapes Thought

or epistemologically speaking,

Not only thought, but personality and precepts which in turn precipitate social and political institutions of the group speaking the language.
The national and ethnical stereotyping that we do simply reflects, though sometimes poorly, the product of a group's mother tongue.
