I've read all the forums and there is no general consensus.

Looking for a resort on the BEACH for mid 20's all male. Big on partying and not on families, so we can party late. Definitely prefer to be on the beach near all the bars. The few resorts i've heard of are Velero and Wyndham. Also heard mixed reviews.

I was thinking of Staying cabarete, travelling to Sosua for partying one night and then going to Puerto Plata to Ocean World another night for partying and Casino...does that sound plausible or is that one hour drive to Ocean world a really big hassle?

Also, can anyone compile a list of clubs they think are worth checking out in all three cities of Cabarete, Puerto Plata and Sosua? Considering a young crowd, not trashy.

**Please, if you can't compile it, then just don't respond. I've done research on this website and tripadvisor and everything is SO scrambled. Would love to have a more organized approach and i'm sure it will help others in the future. Thanks

Viva Wyndham Tangerine has mixed reviews, but not Velero. Viva is an All Inclusive Resort; Velero isn't. The only "adults only" resort in Cabarete is Celuisima Cabarete but it's far from town. No resort in Cabarete is just for partying; and except for Celuisima, you will find families. Party time is after 11pm at the beach bars.

I don't know for Sosua, but for Cabarete, here's the 'do not miss list' of bars:

LAX (before 11pm or so)
Bamboo
Onno's
Nikki Beach

To go to Ocean World Casino, you'll need to take a cab both ways. Expect to pay at least $50. It may be more.

Finally, you have to excuse me, but if you're asking questions in a forum you can't demand organized answers. Making demands of people willing to answer your question is a stretch. IMHO

Rock & Roll All Night... And Party Everyday

You should stay in Sosua, check out Sosua Casino, they are practically on Sosua beach...rooms for about $50/day or less....and you're in the middle between Puerto Plata and Cabarete.....

I have to say that every time I have been to the Dominican (13 years) there's always a party somewhere....never a dull moment. I think any resort you book you will have fun especially in Cabarete or Sosua ..they are geared more to single people.

I second this.

edit: as for going to Ocean World, it's not worth it. Lighthouse is OK but it's hit or miss and it doesn't get busy till really late. The casino is a little classier (than Sosua bay) but they don't have poker every night. Sosua bay does. I'd recommend sticking to Cabarete/Sosua for your crowd. Problem is Cabarete is dead during week days and so I'd recommend staying in Sosua and going out to Cabarete to party on the weekend.

List of clubs for Cabarete was accurate. For Sosua it's Classicos till 3-4am and then After 1 (at the casino) once Classicos closes down.

You can free transportation to Ocean World Casino if you purchase Ocean Worlds' Bravissimo Show excursion, which can also be combined with a dinner for an upgrade. The show is well worth the $29.50 per person as OW is currently running a 2 x 1 special.

sosua/caberete is your party place. caberete has the better beach for kite surfing and water sports. sosua has the better nightlife options although caberete has party places right on the beach. you can really stay in either place and travel to the other at night.

it's really your choice...

There is also a casino in Cabarete. It's open late. (maybe 5:00 am). You can get there by motoconocho - or walking (maybe 15 minute walk).
