I have danced professionaly in the UK for a few years and I am also a trained and qualified dance teacher and aerobics instructor. How hard do you think it would be to break into the hotel circuit on the north coast, Iv seen non dominicans dance in hotels before but i just dont have the contacts I think I would need?? Any help or other options for me job wise there. I live in Sosua! :classic:

It will be quite tough. Tourism is not doing very well on the north coast and many of the former dancers are out of work. AND the wages are horrendous. They get paid as little as 6,000RD per month! Of course the hours can be pretty bad as well.

I realise it will be hard but not impossible and my partners in the same industry so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Many tourists are keen to learn Latin American and Dominican dancing. You have to attract your own clients to one of the many dance studios in Las Terrenas and give them a percentage for lessons.
There is also film and video work.
1,000 pesos might be typical for a 2 hour session with 35% going to the studio.
Hotels are also keen to hire professional dance couples for their entertainment.
Expect 1000 pesos for 1 hour slot ( 2 x 1/2 hour ).
Good luck!
Everyone is very impressed with very good tango dancers!
