saw my first one in four years in sosua and was wondering how common these little things are.....I understand there are more in certain areas.
Wikipedia says they are on the red list for endangered species whatever that means

I could be mistaken but I think we call these: colibri'

This is not a 'Colibri" (sunbird or hummingbird in some places)

JR, can I ask where you saw this one? I think I saw a fleeting glimpse a couple of days ago in Encuentro area.

it was outside my bedroom window in la mulata , he must have been feeling adventurous, things die when they come into contact with me

Awesome cute little bird. Reminds me of the Carolina Wrens back home. I had one in my house in Costambar awhile back.
