Great video, I cross that bridge everyday.

Traffic is quite a bit heavier then the "one" car they show crossing it.

It?s 2 lanes in each directions, but of course many of the Special Privileged Dominicans make it 3 lanes and sometimes more going into the city in the morning, driving in the out bound lane, and making the normal 2 lanes 3.

Really informative video, it felt like a elementary school film strip. But peculiar how they kept panning away from the close up of the people. But this was 1959.

Yes Racerx I did notice that too. I guess American workers were the ones encharged to build the bridge (no Haitians) as it was built for American Steel Co. and taking in consideration that after 50 years with very low maintenance it's still in good shape.

I met one of the bridge engineers in 1962 at the Hotel Mercedes where all the construction team lived. Interesting that they were maintaining the bridge then...

The scenes brought back memories of a different Santiago...oh yes it did....

Great piece of film, also nice to see those Beautiful cars of yesteryear on the streets. Never see them anymore, shame, wonder what happened to all the classics.

If you wanna see some of them go to Camp David Ranch, they have a couple inside the building by the restaurant area.
