That seems to be a Chinese goose? Some Oriental about him-her. Might be nice to have around the yard, except for the poop....

already overrun with next doors cat poo - so he may help in frightening off the dirty pussies.....you have to make a choice which poo is better I suppose

It looks like a a Muscovey duck. We had them as pets when I was growing up in England. They are often kept around as fly catchers (no kidding), they have amazing speed when it comes to snapping up flys. Do not remember eating them, they where just around the yard for ever.

where do you keep it, jr? i really want to take it home. i am sure it would win with the cats but goggies may be a problem. they seem to have a thing for duck. when we walk them they totally ignore chickens but pull whenever they see two ducks currently residing at costambar golf course.

It goes where it wants to at the moment - seems to like the shade of the coconut tree so lets hope one doesnt drop off
