Do you live in Gazcue?
I live in Gazcue. I uise the Hotel Melia pool. They do not have day passes as a general rule. The cost of membership has gone up to $10,000 to join and then $2000 a month. However, if you and your family are just coming for a day, PM me and you can come as my guest... then we can talk to the SPA management about how much you want to use the pool.
The other pool in the neighborhood is the Jaragua, which, when I checked it out was much more expensive, and IMHO not as good a pool for lap swimming. since it is an odd shape. The Melia is on the mezzenine level and always has a nice breeze.. and and the grill makes a great hamburger .. ok. pricey.. but a treat once a month.
Usually I opt for a cappucino after my laps.

Yeh, the Hotel Santo Domingo is good, we used it for the last couple of years, $RD500 per day and it is always quiet. I wasn't going to go there until they finished the room renovation and they are/were working directly over the pool area and it gets noisey. Any idea if they've finished on that yet, been lately?
I think you are confusing the Hotel Santo Domingo with the Dominican Fiesta.
Everything is normal at the Hotel Santo Domingo pool, they do not have rooms over the pool, I was there 2 days ago.
The hotel Santo Domingo is at the start of Lincoln? Good casino at the back entrance, lobby and pool off to the right to the main entrance.
I'm pretty sure I am right, I lived opposite it for over a year. They have rooms not directly over the pool, over the restaurant besides the pool, which is kinda over the pool. They ripped out the sliding doors on the whole of the third floor last year and it was pretty noisey. Even on Sunday. I am presuming they are completed now if you didn't notice anything.

You're thinking of the Hispaniola on the opposite side of the street.
The Hotel Santo Domingo does not have a casino.
The pool at the Hotel Santo Domingo is better than the Hispaniola, plus they have a tennis club, gym, Sauna etc
You are absolutely correct Rob, I am an idiot. Been away from the area for 6 months and already lost my barrings, lol $hit, that is bad.
