A group of us (Females, age 24) have been thinking about vactioning in Punta Cana. How is the nightlife? We love to go out and dance. I heard that bars close at midnight-is that true? Where are good places to go?

Punta Cana is predominantly couples. The hotels are spread out, unless youa re staying at the Bavaro hotels, or the Riu that are clusters of hotels of the same chain. Nightlife is best in Santo Domingo -- by far the best discos. Then, Playa Dorada to meet other tourists, and Sosua and Boca Chica to meet locals and tourists on the north coast.
