I hear reports of Lionfish here in the Dominican Republic.
There is at least one project to control them.
Has anyone eaten them?
It seems to be growing problem - in many areas of the DR.

Reef Check Dominica Republic is undertaking to control lionfish in La Caleta National Marine Park:
Este proyecto tiene como objetivo apoyar y promover el control de Pez Le?n para el consumo humano. Mientras que los peces locales aprenden a comerlo, los humanos pueden proporcionar un control clave para salvar a las poblaciones de peces locales de la devastaci?n. Su apoyo se proporcionar? una formaci?n adecuada y equipo apropiado para los pescadores y buzos deportivos, la sensibilizaci?n y lo que es m?s importante, la creaci?n de un incentivo econ?mico para el control tan necesario del Pez Le?n.

This project aims to support and promote lionfish control through human consumption. Until local fish learn to eat them, humans can be a key means of control to save populations of local fish from devastation. Your support will provide fishers and scuba divers with adequate training and appropriate equipment, sensitization, and most importantly an economic incentive for much-needed lionfish control.
