Maria, an Italian woman, was extremely devout.
After she married, she refused any kind of contraceptive, true to her faith. They had 17 children.
But her husband was ill and died.
Time passed and Maria married another man. Again they refused any form of contraception. They had 15 offspring.
Her second husband was also hit by an illness and died.
Shortly after he was gone Mary was very ill and died.
At the cemetery during the funeral, the priest looked down on the coffin, then cast his eyes to heaven and spoke with outstretched arms raised:
"Finally they are together!"
This brought a male relative clearly confused and after service he asked the priest for an explanation.
"Sir priest," he said, "you said during the ceremony:" Finally they are together! "Did you mean Maria and her first husband of Mary and her second husband? "
The priest looked long been amazed at the man and said:
"I meant her legs!
