Marathons in DR?

I want to get into running / walking outdoor, I do a lot of cardio at the gym but I would love to try walking / running in SHORT ?of course- marathons :) . I don?t like to just go in the street and run or walk by myself

Does anyone know if they have this kind of activity either in Santo Domingo, San pedro, Juan Dolio or La Romana? or maybe groups who do a safe route in any of those cities??

i think i want to stick to getting fit :S i like running with fitness clothes definetly not a red dress!! oh of course i can always skip that one!!! hahahahha
