From today's Sosua News:

The famous Dominican long-distance swimmer Marcos D?az, will on Sunday, 18 September swim between Puerto Plata and Sos?a. In a press conference held at 'Casa de las Naciones Unidas' said the swimmer that he wants to swim the 38 km journey to raise people's awareness of the importance of nature conservation. He wants to start in the Bay of Sos?a with his swim journey and then after 38 kilometers in the ocean he hopes to end at the Malec?n of Puerto Plata. This sport achievement is the launch of the International Day of clean beaches and coasts.

Bla bla bal. BORING!! He is connected is why he gets to do this. He is not a competitive open water swimmer, and never has been. All he knows how to do, and he does it well, is promote himself and use his connections to get sponsorship for these farcical stunts which nobody cares about.

The 5 million plus that was spent on him going around Manhattan would have been much better spent on the Dominican Swimming Federation.

Sheest, another dose of this clown is worse than a dose of the clap!

No, I do not like this at all.
