Well done documentary. Thanks.
I hope the intention is to show that lack of over-regulation makes things flow smoothly.
Because that's just what it does.
Some cities in Europe are taking down traffic lights and over-signage to find that throughput is higher.
It all depends on the competence of the drivers of course.

Meanwhile, in the Netherlands:Bicycle rush hour Utrecht (Netherlands) 2011 - YouTube

I wonder what Dominicans would think of this. BTW most of those bikes cost over US$1000 and have just a few speeds. Gas costs is about US$6.50(~200 pesos) per gallon.

I only wish there was a bicycle culture in The DR as people would me much healthier, less pollution, etc...but Dominicans would never go for this as long as they can get a hold of a Passola and as people make more and more money they want a larger and larger car. The preferred vehicle is the large SUV for those who can afford it.

They dont need a bicycle. They just need to walk more.

Riding my bike here in the DR is a pleasure in spite of some "odd" traffic rules. I quit riding my bike in Orlando about three years ago after an incident. People just don't seem to see bikes in the States where there is a lot of traffic.

In fact, if anyone has a small bike let me know and maybe we'll do the tourist hwy from Stgo.

In Holland using the horn when not in an absolute emergency -even one short tough- can cost few hundreds of dollars.

That's supposed to cost 350 euros....ridiculous, never had one though and when I came back from 4 years Santo Domingo in Holland in 2005 I used the horn a lot...
