Just curious if anyone has been whitewater canoeing or kayaking in the country at all? If so, what river? How was it etc?

Not interested in rafting at all, as it's just not the same!

The Yasika River, used by Iguana Mama, is really nice for Kayaking. I went tubing along the river once.

You can also Kayak at the Parque Nacional Los Haities: Aventuras :: Paraiso Ca?o Hondo :: Sitio Oficial

I was also told that the word and concept of a Kayak comes from the Ta?no Indians, who called these small vessels Kayukos.
HAHA...........Kayak is an Inuit word for, guess what........a KAYAK!!!

The following text was on the menu at Para?so Ca?o Hondo and our guide told us that Kayuko was originally a Ta?no word. Just what I was told last weekend.

Hahaha- streets were indeed small rivers for a few hours. Kids running around in their underwear and having great fun.
