Here is a DR1 calendar event: Not all people go to Boca Chica for a piece ...some go for peace.

Boca Chica meditates
People in 200 cities around the world will simultaneously meditate in the name of world peace at 4pm on 1 October. The event organizers, America Meditates 2011, Because Peace is Contagious, The Art of Living team will assemble for the symbolic event at the Boca Chica Beach. Arte de Vivir is giving free courses on breathing, lifestyle enhancement, yoga exercises and meditation in Boca Chica on Friday.

Thank you for your feedback -- but take note that those events mentioned were just for this week. Next time we will mention they are the events for the week! It was a reminder that they are worthy and should not be missed as many will soon be ending. There is lots going on in Santo Domingo, and most times people are lazy and don't go.


Of course there are many, many more events, but we just highlighted events that should not be missed for the week. Baseball starts 14 October and Cirque du Soleil isn't until 27 October. We will get to those.

Several events in Santo Domingo are not to be missed. They include the 26th Biennial of the Visual Arts at the Museum of Modern Art, the Tete Marella & Valeria Lerner art exhibition, Recycled Art Surprises by Marcelo Feder and the Contemporary Dance Festival at Bellas Artes, the Season Concert of the National Symphony Orchestra at the National Theater and Taste Santo Domingo at the Jaragua Hotel.
