An Englishman who was hiding in the Dominican Republic to avoid being captured by the British justice was deported to London to answer charges of alleged pedophilia and other crimes committed against minors, including pornographic activities using young boys.

Brian Ralph Baker was out of the country on a flight that took off Monday from the International Airport of Punta Cana, La Altagracia Province, escorted by Dominican officials said the National Drug Control (DNCD).

The alleged offender, who was hiding in the country since 2003, was arrested the first of this month by Interpol and officers from the Directorate General of Immigration, the arrest was made after a request by the British authorities through its embassy in Santo Domingo, the agency said.

The British authorities had notified the Dominicans about the danger of the accused, because it is a person inclined to commit crimes against children, whom uses photography and video in pornographic activities, according to the report provided by the DNCD .

The foreigner spent several days locked in a cell at police headquarters, where he was sent by Immigration, an organization that in turn put him in the hands of members of the Special Investigations Department of the DNCD. This unit is one that haunts the extraditable.

Police nab German in 47M euro fraud

Boca Chica, Dominican Republic, Dominican Police agents assigned to INTERPOL on Sunday detained in the entrance of the resort town, Detlef Spiess, a German wanted in his country on charges of defrauding citizens of several countries out of more than 47 million euros.

Between 2001 and 2005, according to Police, the scams were conducted with the use of professional investment fraud, embezzlement, insider trading to materialize deals, public document forgery, forged titles and money laundering.

Police said members of the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigation, assigned to the National Headquarters of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL NCB-Santo Domingo), arrested and deported a Canadian who was wanted by the authorities in Canada charged with second-degree murder and committing other crimes.

According to the report, Alexander Sooknanan Azad, 27 years old, was wanted on an arrest warrant by the Judge of the Superior Court of the City of Belleville, Ontario, Canada, accused of various crimes.

He said that after the arrest by the INTERPOL the Dominican Republic processed through the appropriate agencies the detainee's repatriation, and the same was deported to his country, guarded by two officers of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

He said that Alexander was transported on an Aircraft Pilatus 12, registration CFGMQ owned by the Police in Canada, where he will have to answer for the acts charged against him.

The Dominican authorities deported to the United States an American who was a fugitive from justice in his country, and who was captured recently by the National Drug Control (DNCD), after he scaped from a federal prison in Florida, where he was imprisoned for drug trafficking, narcotics agency reported.

Colonel Ramon Alcides Rodriguez Veras, DNCD spokesman said they deported to his country is Tom?s Monte y/o Jos? Bienvenido Col?n Liriano, 44, who was wanted by U.S. authorities as he escaped from custody at Federal Prison Camp jail "El Terrero Saufley" located in the city of Pensacola, in the State of Florida, where he was serving a sentence for committing serious crimes of conspiracy to import and distribute at least five kilos of cocaine into U.S. territory.

Col?n Rodr?guez Veras said Liriano escaped from jail on a date not indicated and took refuge in the Dominican Republic trying to evade the pursuit of American justice, but the same was captured in the city of San Pedro de Macoris the past 1st. December by members of the Special Investigations Department of the DNCD in a coordinated operation with the Directorate General of Immigration.

The accused was arrested on the streets of that city Mella.

The National Police said Friday that was deported a German arrested in Boca Chica, Santo Domingo East, during an operation, having been summoned by the judicial authorities of his country for allegedly committing various crimes.

The institution said through a press release that Sajgo Andras was deported to Germany in flight 3235 on the airline Condor, at 3:00 yesterday afternoon from the Las Americas International Airport.

"Sajgo served a sentence of five years of detention in the Republic of Switzerland and seven in Germany, on charges of drug trafficking to these countries and Russia, from Colombia," said the institution.

Police said that the charges against him are from the German national's country of aggravated theft and assault.

"The foreigner was arrested by members of the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigation, assigned to the National Headquarters of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) at the time he was at an ice cream shop in Boca Chica, accompanied by other people of the same nationality, "says the briefing note.

The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) reported deported an American fugitive from justice in his country where he is accused of statutory rape.

Alan Crawford JR Dennis hiding in La Romana was delivered in the Las Americas International Airport by officers of the DNCD to U.S. federal custody immediately transported to Miami on American Airlines Flight 680.

The alien was persecuted "by the U.S. authorities for charges of sexual offense with a child while having an extensive child molestation criminal history in the United States."

According to a document the agency, Alan Crawford was arrested last week by members of the Department of Special Investigations as he was walking down the street at the urbanization Don Juan, La Romana, where he acted as a tourist.

Dutch Scam Artists Arrested, Deported


The Attorney General of the DR recovered €11 million of the more than €22 million that were swindled by a supposed international network composed of two Dutchmen who were arrested in Anacona, Santo Domingo, for having cheated 900 investors in the Netherlands and subsequently escaping to the Dominican Republic.

The Dutch authorities gave notice to the Attorney General of the investment of €11 million in laundered money which enabled the authorities to act through the Anti-Laundering of Assets Unit. The money was invested in a series of companies and properties that the authorities are investigating, according to the director of the Anti-Laundering Unit, German Miranda Villalona.

He said that the Dutchmen Gerd Pol and Nike Eddie were involved in the scheme, and they were arrested, operating a sort of marketing enterprise that was promoting a real estate boom and offering plans of projects that were never built.' Clave Digital has the name of the Dutchman as Jear Ford; he has been deported back to the Netherlands whilst Nike Eddie has been released. DR authorities have started confiscating the possessions of the deported Dutchman, according to Clave Digital. According to El Nacional properties in Santiago and the east of DR have also been confiscated.

SANTO DOMINGO .- The National Drugs (DNCD) reported that was deported to the United States an American of Dominican descent who was a fugitive from justice in his country, where he fled shortly after obtaining his probation by taking refuge in Cotu? , where his relatives reside here.

Miguel Alfonseca Soto arrested there on charges of distributing narcotics in New York, according to the agency, was arrested several weeks ago in the city indicated after a shooting incident recorded in an amusement center, an event during which one person got killed and where he received a wound in the leg.

The accused was held in a private clinic in the capital, where he was guarded by members of the anti-drug agency, confirmed that agency spokesman Roberto Lebron.

"This is a United States citizen who was declared a fugitive for some time for violating a probation order. He faces charges of conspiracy to distribute narcotics. This case is represented by the District Court of New York City, "he said.

This is the eighth American detained in the country and repatriated in the last ten months, while 30 Dominicans have been extradited to the U.S. and elsewhere, between August 16, 2006 and this June.

Americans are returning Ewinstein Martin Howard, Adalberto Rivera D?az, Kemter Douglas Irving, Algeria Benjamin Rosario, John Francis Dye, and Jairo David Tavarez Tavarez, who were captured by the DNCD and the National Police immediately after receiving warrants for each one.

Dominican Police announced today that it deported two Italians, one accused of sexual exploitation and illegal immigration and the other of rioting outside the Italian diplomatic offices in the country and Haiti.

The two deportees are Claudio Mateo Varisco, 57, and Valter Sanso, 53, police said in a statement.

According to the source, Claudio Mateo Varisco was arrested at the request of authorities in Italy, where he has a pending sentence of four years for sexual exploitation and illegal immigration.

An Italian arrest warrant weighed against Claudio Mateo Varisco, the statement said the police agency.

While fellow Sanso was sent to his country accused of rioting on the outskirts of the buildings in the embassies of Italy in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

The two men were deported to their country yesterday via Madrid, Spain, after being arrested two days before in the Caribbean nation.
