make you (as they say in brooklyn-Yous) aware of a small
project I have, and am certainly not opposed to help from
others
It is collecting of books, children's books preferably.
One thing I have done my last 2 trips to DR, is gone to some
areas and handed out books to kids. I can't say they were a
lot of books, but who is to say the effect a good book might
have on a lil' kid.
It pains me to go into some rural areas and just see little kids
playing baseball. So I figured there are others that feel the same
way, I set-up a site (librosparard.com) just for the purpose of
getting the word out - more or less. If you live in south florida,
which is were I am based, and feel that there are some books
lying around your place that might be put to better use, then
consider donating them-needles to say they should be in
spanish :chinese: and for kids.
