The following twitter states that Sosua Bay Resort is under new management.

Does that mean Armando Casciati is out as CEO, or that only the management under his direction has changed?
Also I would assume that legally the resort has a different legal setup than the real estate, casino and gaming within the casino

Armando is not going anywhere soon. He is here to stay. I don't see how a new management company will help when we all know what the real issues are: not enough tourists, Armando's legal expenses, and a much organized competition.

It depends on the contacts that a management company has. some management companies seem more successful in attracting clients than others. I know nothing about the company Armando is using but hope it is not one that is offering such
low rates to attract clients that they must have almost 100% occupancy just to break even.

Unfortunately it's the situation at most hotels on the north coast.

Hi folks,

Long term reader, first time poster.... With the new management at Sosua Bay, does this mean the policies have changed in terms of bringing "guests"?.

I know there is the family-oriented side but I was wondering about the other wing of the hotel. Can anyone confirm this?

You are allowed to bring street rats with a cedula into the left hand section of the hotel.

I just have one question.

I certainly admire your taste in gun toting cueros in el Flow, did you at least get her digits? I am sure she can use 500 Pesos for amo?

Any local knowledge on what types of rates the Victoria House section of the hotel are going for?
We are considering 3-4 nights in Sosua before potentially heading to Las Galeras.
I know, "considering" + "potentially" = blah blah blah.....but we are in the planning stage.
But seriously, I am seeing an internet rate of about 130 USD for Feb.
If anyone on the ground could do a "drop in" and inquire as to what a "real" rate may be I would greatly appreciate it.

I emailed them twice asking what the rate was and if rooms were available. They never replied to my emails so I booked Casa Valeria for part of my December trip.
