Hi, the cost of the Open Water certification is $515. This includes pool training, theory manual, log book, slates, the four open water dives required and all equipment. It takes approximately three days. However if you email head office at info1@dresseldivers.com right now you can receive 20% discount if you pre pay before you arrive at the hotel.
Also I can highly recommend an excursion for some of your dives. There is a great tour to Saona Island. The reefs there are beautiful - also you can take snorkelers along. You can also pre pay for these excursions online.
Bring a couple of passport size photos along, they're needed for certification.

IIRC, the dive instructors and assistants will be looking for a tip. Stayed at an Iberostar in Rivera Maya Mexico, and did the SCUBA try out thing... and tips were solicited.
