The "Fernandez Government" Is Trying To Convince The "IMF" To wait Six Months,....

before they are forced to implament the 18% increase in the cost of "Electricity".
They say they "NOW" would not be a good time because of current economic "conditions".
Six months would be just AFTER the next Presidencial elections.
Am I being cynical to think that has influenced "Leonel"??????? :disappoin:disappoin:disappoin

So what is the point? No different than Obama, the US Congress, and politicians all over the world facing an election.

Maybe they could ask Hillary to come there,to sort out the DR problems, while Bill "shanks" his ball into the palms on the 4th or 5th hole to wet his cigars. Please tell me this never happened there before!! Both the US and DR are eaten up with so much corruption.

That "Nuria Story" had been "Disappeared".
"Free Press",yet another Dominican "OXYMORON"!
Now friends,this is DR1.
What good does it do to compare what goes on here with everyplace else on the earth?
Those of us who choose to live here, left those "other" places.
We should be concerned about the DR.
Let those other countries worry about themselves.
Do people in the USA who are not happy about Obama say, well look at "Leonel"?
I doubt it,and for good reason,IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!

No, they don't say look at Leonel or anyone else. They tweet, blog, or what have you, knowing their ranting and raving is not going to make a particle of difference. But it apparently makes them feel they are doing "something".

18% is nothing. Try a 100% increase after they install some new meters and make an Enron guesstimate of the prior meter readings for the month that is not even itemized anywhere on the bill. I am sure the IMF and DR Gvt. are salivating at the prospect of those new meters going in everywhere. De facto 100% increase for one month pays for almost the entire year.

IF the IMF will allow Marranzini a bunch of money to buy about a million electric meters, AND they get installed in the barrios where there are "guesstimates" as to consumption and they invoice say 400 pesos a month, no matter what, our electricity rates should go down...yes down. With a million more people paying what they consume, WE won't have to....At least that is the theory...Fingers crossed.

"SORRY",HB!
You know the "DRILL" here.
They raised the cost of electricity very high when the cost of "OIL" went to $150 US a barrel several years ago. When the price of oil fell to $60 US a barrel, did the price of electricity change?
Then,to add "Insult-To-Injury",when the price of oil went up to $100 US a barrel, they raised the price of electricity AGAIN!
Reason given,"The cost of oil has gone up"!
As far as the "Meters" issue goes, they have installed several hundred thousand new "metered" households over the past two years, net effect, their revenues have gone way up,but so have our costs!
NO reduction due to more paying customers!
Remember when it was discovered that "Leonel's" brother, who happens to live in New York City, was on the DR Electric Company's payroll for $2,ooo US a month????
And you still have "HOPE"????????????
