Hi everyone,

I've gotten some great info from this forum so far, but haven't officially introduced myself.
My family and I will be moving to Santiago in May, long-term.

I really appreciate the on-the-ground insight and sharing that takes place here. A tremendous resource. Thank you.

Welcome- but I have to say, the North COast is amazing! But nearly everywhere in the DR is fabulous. Much success to you-

Welcome! Although I stay and like the north coast much better than Santiago, my friend likes and therefore lives in Santiago. His place is much nicer than mine but costs twice as much too. He is a PHD and also teaches English at the nearby university.
Good luck to you and your family.

Hi Der Fish,

Thanks for asking. The Spanish is going very well, but I'm going to be taking about 3 months at ALPI when I arrive.

In terms of missionary work, the focus will be on church planting (not a building, but a community of believers). Of course, we will want to be active in the community at large as we grow.
