Who can tell me much about the Coconut Grove condos/rentals? I believe it is between Cabarete and Sosua. A good development? Mostly rental? Owners? What is the safety of that area recently/historically? Thanks for the opinions.Bob

I think they are close to each other. Coconut Palms is a resort.. and I thought the other was a longer term condo development. Read about rentals there and wondered if it is a safe(er) area.

Coconut Grove (condos) is next to Coconut Palms (hotel)...close to the highway at the entrance to Playa Encuentro. I believe all the apartments are 2 BR/1 or 1.5 BA. The area is safe (not necessarily true closer to the beach). There's a mix of owners and renters, but probably more renters living there. You'll definitely want a car or moto if you're living there...
