Hello all,

My daughter is a marketing consultant, and she is relocating to DR.

She is a freelancer, and wants to know if she can open a personal bank account in DR, and have vendors pay her to per personal account.

She will eventually open a business account in the Dominican Republic, but we are hearing this is very hard to do.

What are people's thoughts on this?

Opening a business is not something hard to do. In the case of your daughter she'd have to decide whether to incorporate or have the business n her personal name.

If she's planning to work for large or medium-sized companies, she'll have to be legal because companies require receipts valid for tax purposes.
