SD's firebrand DA announces internal affairs department
Santo Domingo.- The National District’s feisty Prosecutor announced Thursday the creation of an internal affairs department, to deal with the DAs who commit serious offenses in their functions.Yeni Berenice Reynoso said the department will start working next week, but didn’t identify the person who’ll be its director.In a related development, the capital’s Prosecutor revealed that Assistant DA Jose Manuel Polanco, accused by his wife of domestic violence, had been suspended.She said she made the decision while an investigation unfolds, and that the case was transferred to the Santo Domingo Province Office of the Prosecutor.Reynoso added however that the case is the jurisdiction of the Justice Ministry Council.
