Hey everyone, I would be interested in hearing everyone's interpretation of Cibao adentro. I heard the term lovingly being referred to as the real cibao. What provinces/cities are cibao adentro?

The heart of the Cibao Valley is probably Santiago, Moca, La Vega with Valverde and Duarte being the extreme limits.
It would refer also to the campo, not the cities. Places like Guayabal, La Paloma, San Victor, Las Yerbas, and others that are seldom in the news...

Also we use this term "de tierra adrentro" when referring to music, food or language:
Merengue de tierra edentro = That's is a real merengue tipico.
Sancocho de tierrra adentro = Sancocho campesino.

I agree with what Hilbilly stated, The Cibao adentro or also called ei Cibao central, are probably Santiago, Moca, La vega, and Valverde. Although I would consider towns such as Moncion to be the Cibao adentro, despite being part of the Santiago Rodriguez province.

It is interesting because on another website I was told Cibao adentro refers to la Linea, or west of Santiago, including Valverde, Santiago Rodriguez, Dajabon, and Monte Cristi.

I think everyone's interpretation is different. There isn't a territorial delineation per se - For instance I feel Cotui represents Cibao Adentro, but I would tend to agree more with HB even though I wouldn't include Mao in that group (This would be La Linea) in that it would be parts of Santiago country side, La Vega, Duarte and Moca.

Yeah but the group doesn't mention any place.
