[h=3]Drivers protest[/h]A violent confrontation erupted yesterday, Thursday February 16, between the police and protesters trying to block the road between Moca and Jamao n which is the route to Gaspar Hernandez and Puerto Plata.
The drivers were protesting because this major route is often impassable as the tarmac is deteriorating and when it rains there are landslides.
According to El Caribe, several of the drivers were arrested and when the police opened fire to disperse the crowd it was thought that the major in command had been shot by one of the privates, but he was only grazed by the bullet
