From today's Sosua News:

On Wednesday 8 February, led by the Mayor of Sos?a Ilana Neumann, solemnly 12 flags were hoisted in the park of the flags. But what do we see now? The flag of the United States of America is gone. Only the bare flagpole still stands. Bystanders claim that the flag is taken by drunks. Others claim that the flag was stolen and sold to the highest bidder. The USA flag seems to be very popular and therefore expensive.

Good to hear there are US patriots in the DR. Sad to hear they are drunken thieves. Normally the tie down for the flag is placed at such a height it takes a ladder to reach it. Stops the average thief. Maybe they will return it when they sober up.

Note to self: bring a bunch of $10 US flags to DR on next trip...

Only $5 on Amazon. Made in China, no doubt...

One of the largest US flag factories is in Pennsylvania near Pottstown, I do believe...

I'm glad to know you can still buy them American made. But whether they make the $5 flags is another question.. The price range even on 3x5 is crazy.

The reviews on the $5 flag were not kind. Go figure..

I looked at the flag poles when walking by today. The cords that raise and lower the flags are in easy reach.
