Rev. Paul Knight Director from the UK (BTBCF) then donated $1,182.00 US Dollars for the improvement of the lives of the community children with the Rotary's help.
We has a grand time today at the Cortecito School today in Punta Cana. Rev.Paul, Annette, Rachel, Rod, Antia Valdez, Dolores, and I were in attendance. It was International Women's Day. The students did a short skit about respecting women and a perfomed a dance to entertain the guests. Also, Dolores and I were part of a panel of judges of a reading competition among 4 students. They were judged on their ability to read an essay on the importance and respect of women. It was very enjoyable and prizes were given the students for their achievements, everyone won.
Snacks and refreshments were served after the contest. We then reviewed the upgrade of the septic system and discussed the improvements to the school and our desires for future community assistance.
