I have many years experience as a construction superintendent and as a project supervisor and now I have my own construction company.

Here's the thing, I have been traveling to DR for 5 years sometimes as often as once a month and I'm in love.... (referring to this country not a chica :)) -- so I'm trying to see if there are any opportunities out there construction wise, but I have no clue where to start or where to look.

Can any of you well seasoned DR1ers guide me?

As far as speaking the language I always feel like dominicans are having a contest of who can speak more words per minute and it always seems like an argument, pero mi espanol no es muy mal.

Any advice/help is appreciated.

I should also mention that I'm open to other business opportunities as well such as distribution, importing cars, clothes etc. (no pushcart selling burgers as mentioned in the other threads) :)

Construction can be a lucrative business but it will take some time to build contacts of professionals and subcontractors.

There is also a thriving import export market here as well. Best of luck.
