need info on punta cana, is there a small town with in distance of this hotel

Hi
I was wonering,..we are going to Dreams spa and resort for a week and wanted to know, how far is the town or is there a town near by, where we can go for the day to shop and eat, just to enjoy the stuff out of the resort. leaving the 30th of march, please anyone with an answer would be great.:alien:

Dreams spa and resort, there are 2 in Punta Cana.
Dreams Palm Beach and Dreams Punta Cana.

Dreams Palm Beach is adjacent to the small village of Cabeza de Toro, which has a small super mercado and a few bars.

Dreams Punta Cana is north of the Bavaro strip in Uvero Alto, nothing there in the way of shopping but you can taxi to Cortecito very easily and have some shopping and eateries.
