Did you buy the house just east of Cabarete, about 200 yards past the casino?

Are you referring to Preston and Judy's house across from the police station? It used to be painted a reddish/orange but is now an antique white or cream color?

My ONLY point was DO NOT advertise your address on the WWW, that is all, nothing more, nothing less.

Ok, Preston and Judy sold the house last year to someone else. i like the house, although i would maybe make a couple of changes like, making a stairwell from the upstairs/rooftop bedroom--connected with the downstairs house. maybe the new owner has already done this? anyway, as it is now, you have to physically leave the house--which makes you vulnerable at night, and then physically walk down to the first floor (outside the house) in order to then enter the house through the rear door facing the beach. thats seems kind of dangerous to me at night. Well, you're vulnerable at the very least.

anyway, it's a beautiful house, right on the beach, but of course, you got the highway literally 3 feet from your front door which means you are going to be woken up from passing motoconchos that have no mufflers, as well as cars, trucks, dumptrucks, car horns, donkeys, dogs, and guys on the bullhorns selling produce at 8am in the morning. oh, i like to have sex sometimes along your front wall along the beach, by your staircase. i'm not loud, and i tend to keep it quick...under 5 minutes. If you hear me holler..it's more of a Tarzan call to the wild. just ignore me.

Oh...you also now have a $10 Hostel next to your house. Lovely!

Love frank

Yes that is the one.
It's a very nice house. My wife and I owned it for about 4 years. Many good times and good memories from that place. Never had a bit of problems. The motos can be a bit noisy. Good luck with your new house.

Thanks Tom we are looking forward to it. We are choosing that place because of the life there. The fact there is stuff going on so the noise is obviously a consequence of living in the thick of it in Cabarete. When we are towards retirement age 20 years or so maybe we will want somewhere quieter.

Enjoy the house. I know Preston & Judy and the house and its a lovely place. One cannot not be any more on the beach than that. You should consider that advice about enclosing the stairwell.
