I am going to the DR in May and I want to rent a mid size SUV for around 5 days. Which car rental places are the best in the Sosua/Cabarete area? Also, any idea of what the per day cost of a mid size SUV would be?
I have used several times as have several other people we know - Universal Car Rental in Cabarete. David is excellent to work with. We have always gotten good rates from him. He will deliver the car to you and will also pick the car up. Here is the link to their website:
I think we used to pay $20 - $25 US per day but that is some time ago. I would imagine that for about $30 US per day you should get a good vehicle. He will negotiate to a certain degree.

and yes they will do a great job, give you a good rate, pick you up at the airport, and then drop you off.....also give you a decent rate for money exchange!
