Pichardo, is that one white pilot a gringo?

Great pics. The Tucano reminds me of the old P40E's of WWII. I used to jump out of the Huey's - a solid helicopter.

Hopefully DR never gets attacked again - but just in case a squadron of modern jets and a few hundred SAM,s are needed - maybe a submarine patrol also.

Nice pics. What are the FAD 1800 series jets? They look a bit like Hawks. Are the Dominicans starting their own Red Arrows?

Wow,for a "third"world country, full of corrupts, draining every cent of the economy, someone out there is doing the right thing.Pich, thanks for posting positive things about DR.There's reason to celebrate today,we got a 90 hassle free extension!!!! Let that serve as an example for those that can't debate without getting personal!!!

What do you do with a helicopter in hurricanes and fires? Fly over when its safe and count the dead from 1000 feet. Rescue, what rescue? Ever see a really good car wreck here? First thing that happens is that the dead get robbed. After all they cant spend that money. I called 911 after an bad wreck in Puerto Plata - no one answered. This aint Kansas.

Ah, we got Pichardo's attention. Nice pictures. Maybe I should clarify "rescue". Transporting bodies is not rescue. Genuine rescue is the rapid delivery of advanced life support measures. It need to be done within what is termed the "golden hour". Its the period of time from a few minutes up to an hour or more during which the quick delivery of als measures will result in saving many lives. Pilots dont do it. It requires a significant amount of training and a well equipped hospital with radio contact to the rescuers so that the proper treatment is standing by when the patient is delivered into the hospital. While those are nice pictures they do not represent what really happens to the usual victim of accidents in the DR. When I was in a wreck no one showed up. No police and no helicopters. Life is cheap in the DR. Besides they are very busy scaring away the narco trafficers with all their air power. People? not too important in the DR unless they are rich or its election time. Not being cynical, just realistic. And I like it here but I do not look at the DR thru rose colored glasses. Should I expect a helicopter to come to my aid in the DR next time I am in a serious accident or maybe a flood. Naw, it will be a very long wait.
