Can a personal account be opened in DR with a copy of the passport?

Banreservas is somewhat laxer in their requirements: copy of your passport (which they make) and three references from Dominican citizens.

I have 2 DR accounts and all I took was my passport and and didn't have to take any Dominicans with me.
My accounts are with Associacion Cibao and Coorperativa San Jose. I also have a dollar account with Banco Popular

This bank account stuff gets boring --- a million threads

Mine was $5000 US in the bank.

Just go open it.............. I asked no questions and got it in 2 hours.

Why is this thought to be difficult????????????

If they want more info..... go get it and come back again

Banco Santo Cruz you need:
Letter of good standing from your bank at home
Valid passport
$200 in cash to deposit for each account as min.
Someone to sign and vouch for you (They need a cedula)
That is it.

Hi Bob K do you know how to do Internet banking in English at Santo Banco Cruz? I have an account there and being shown once and me leaving the country for holidays ,didn't work .My memory is obviously Good But SHORT! Thx in advance
